Atlas Free Becomes One of the Largest Anti-Trafficking Networks in the World
PR Newswire
SEATTLE, Aug. 27, 2025
SEATTLE, Aug. 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently, the Atlas Free Network more than doubled, growing from 42 to over 130 frontline organizations across 26 countries. The biggest expansion happened in the United States, making Atlas Free one of the largest anti-trafficking networks in the world.
Atlas Free empowers local leaders and initiatives so the fight against sex trafficking can be stronger and more connected than ever before. They do this through a strategic framework, empowering teams on the ground fighting human trafficking head-on every single day. Together, these leaders and organizations are attacking trafficking from every angle: perpetrator accountability, survivor care, targeted prevention, and policy and advocacy.
"To tackle human trafficking, the fastest-growing criminal enterprise on the planet, we need global solutions that are strategic, scalable, and holistic. No one organization can do everything needed to dismantle exploitation, but a global network can. When more organizations unite together in this fight, it means that more people can be set free, more traffickers can be held accountable, and more of the most vulnerable are protected," said Jeremy Vallerand, Atlas Free's CEO & President.
Growth in the United States: From 10 to Over 85 Network Members in the U.S.
While this expansion is global, Atlas Free Network Members in the U.S. are working together to remove illegal content and child exploitation material from major porn sites, leverage the latest technology to prevent purchases of sex, and provide survivors of sex trafficking with life-changing care. These initiatives are helping survivors of sex trafficking access safe homes, legal aid, and the support they need to heal, all while pushing for stronger policies to hold traffickers accountable and protect the exploited.
The Impact
The Atlas Free Network:
- 1,184,510 lives impacted since 2012
- 301 life-changing programs operating to fight human trafficking in 26 countries
- 3,094 people separated from their trafficker in 2024
Triple the Safety
In 2024, the number of safe homes operating in the Atlas Free Network tripled from 57 to 170. Each one is a refuge, a turning point, and a chance to build a new life for survivors of sex trafficking. Here's what this looks like:
- 170 safe homes are operating globally for people to begin to rebuild their lives.
- 14,067 people in aftercare programs are finding stability, healing, and recovery.
- 700 beds for children and 1,079 beds for adults escaping trafficking.
A Survivor Finds Freedom from Sex Trafficking in the United States
For Greta*, the search for safety only led to more danger. Homeless and alone, she needed protection. Sex traffickers found her first. They saw her vulnerability, took her choices, and left her with nothing—except the will to fight. When she finally escaped, she needed more than a way out. She needed someone to see her, believe her and not judge her, and give her space to rebuild. That's when an Atlas Free Network Member stepped in and offered her a safe place to live and to recover. Today, Greta doesn't have to wonder where she'll sleep or if someone is coming for her. She is safe. She is free. And for the first time in a long time, she can stop running and start healing. Countless survivors of sex trafficking like Greta have said about this safe home: "It's quiet here. I can finally think." Outside of the chaos of sex trafficking, a future with new opportunities emerges.
*Name changed to protect the identity of the survivor.
