AI-human collaboration delivers unprecedented efficiency gains for mission-critical defense operations, marking major milestone in government AI adoption
PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Eudia, the leading Augmented Intelligence platform for the world's most important organizations, announces it has been selected by AFWERX for a Direct-to-Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract in the amount of $1.25 million focused on applying Eudia's Augmented Intelligence platform to address the most pressing challenges in the Department of the Air Force (DAF).
The Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) process by accelerating the small business experience through faster proposal to award timelines, changing the pool of potential applicants by expanding opportunities to small business and eliminating bureaucratic overhead by continually implementing process improvement changes in contract execution. The DAF began offering the Open Topic SBIR/STTR program in 2018, which expanded the range of innovations the DAF funded and now Eudia will start its journey to create and provide innovative capabilities that will strengthen the national defense of the United States of America.
This collaborative engagement aims to position the U.S. Air Force at the forefront of AI innovation in government operations by leveraging Eudia's groundbreaking approach of integrating human expertise directly into AI systems for maximum efficiency without sacrificing accuracy and output quality. Starting with augmented contract review, the platform addresses the Department of Defense's historically lengthy processes by creating an entirely new category of AI-augmented workflow that streamlines procurement processes by removing bottlenecks and enabling the government to get the most out of its budgets and resources.
"The selection of Eudia for this contract represents a watershed moment for government innovation," said Omar Haroun, CEO of Eudia. "This engagement proves that forward-thinking defense leaders understand the transformative potential of truly integrated human-AI collaboration. The Air Force isn't just getting better processes, but access to an entirely new category of operational capability that combines our cutting-edge AI platform with human expertise to deliver mission-critical results at unprecedented speed."
Breaking New Ground in Defense Procurement
This announcement validates Eudia's thesis that the future of government operations lies not in replacing human expertise, but in augmenting it with AI to create outcomes impossible with traditional approaches. The engagement demonstrates how human + AI teams consistently outperform humans or AI working alone, a principle that will accelerate critical timelines across operations.
"We are honored to partner with the U.S. Air Force in delivering this groundbreaking transformation of procurement operations," said Mike Masiello, Government Lead of Eudia. "This represents exactly the kind of innovation defense operations have been seeking. It's a solution that doesn't just deliver better technology or better processes, but creates something entirely new by combining both. By connecting human expertise with contextual, explainable AI, we're enabling smarter, faster decisions that are critical in today's high-stakes defense environment."
Realizing the Vision of AI-Augmented Government Operations
The AFWERX contract accelerates Eudia's vision of building a comprehensive network of professionals using AI-augmented intelligence across government sectors. Eudia's platform integrates seamlessly with existing procurement systems, empowering contracting officers and decision-makers with intelligent tooling that not only optimizes output quality but revolutionizes acquisition timelines to ensure rapid delivery of essential capabilities where and when they're needed.
This partnership showcases how Eudia is positioned as the first in a new breed of company that is reinventing how work is done, now across the Fortune 500 and the federal government. Eudia's Augmented Intelligence platform aims to deliver measurable improvements across acquisition lifecycles, enabling personnel to break through bureaucratic and data-related constraints.
