LISLE, Ill., Aug. 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Earning a degree shouldn't mean putting your life on hold. That's why Benedictine University (BenU) is launching two new fully online bachelor's programs designed to meet students where they are and help them go further.
Beginning this year, BenU will offer an online Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science and an online Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology, expanding access to high-impact undergraduate education for learners balancing work, family, and future goals. Both programs are supported by Risepoint, a trusted education technology partner.
The online BS in Computer Science prepares students with the technical foundation needed for fast-growing careers in software engineering, cybersecurity, data analytics, and IT systems. Courses emphasize real-world problem-solving, ethical computing, and the ability to think critically in a digital-first workplace.
The online BA in Psychology offers a broad understanding of human behavior, mental health, and cognitive processes. With coursework in psychological theory, research methods, and social and developmental psychology, students are equipped for careers in counseling, healthcare, business or further graduate study.
Both programs reflect Benedictine University's commitment to academic excellence and service-oriented leadership, hallmarks of its Catholic intellectual tradition.
"These programs embody who we are: an institution rooted in values, focused on access, and committed to empowering learners at every stage of life," said Benedictine University Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Kate Lang, PhD. "By bringing our bachelor's programs online, we're extending our mission in meaningful new ways and meeting students with the flexibility, support, and academic quality they deserve."
Each program offers:
- Fully online, asynchronous courses
- Multiple start dates per year
- Support from engaged faculty and success coaches
- Curriculum grounded in Benedictine University's values of community, learning, hospitality, and stewardship
"Benedictine delivers what today's students truly need: education that's flexible, values-centered, and focused on real outcomes," said Fernando Bleichmar, CEO of Risepoint. "We're proud to support programs that open doors for working adults and create clear, mission-aligned pathways to opportunity."
