The Park Church Launches MT25:40 Mobile Shower and Laundry Center to Serve Charlotte’s Homeless Community

Charlotte, NC – March 1, 2025 – The Park Church is making a transformative impact on Charlotte’s homeless community with the launch of MT25:40, a Mobile Shower and Laundry Center designed to provide dignity, care, and essential services to those in need. This initiative ensures that individuals experiencing homelessness have access to clean clothing and a warm shower—basic necessities that many often go without.

Inspired by Matthew 25:40—“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”—MT25:40 was introduced by Bishop Claude Richard Alexander, Jr. during The Park Church’s annual conference in December 2020. Since then, the vision has gained momentum, with $150,000 raised to bring this life-changing initiative to fruition.

MT25:40 allows us to extend not just tangible support, but also the presence and love of Jesus to those in need,” said Bishop Claude R. Alexander, Jr. “We seek to partner with those whose mission aligns with serving the residentially challenged and displaced, ensuring that no one in our city is left without basic care and compassion.”

A Mobile Mission of Hope

MT25:40 is a fully equipped 40-foot mobile unit designed to bring showers, laundry, and essential care services directly to those experiencing homelessness. The unit features:

• Two bathrooms with showers, including one ADA-compliant facility.

• Two baby changing tables for families in need.

• Two high-capacity washers and dryers for laundry services.

• Independent water and electricity sources for deployment across multiple locations.

• Antimicrobial and antibacterial surfaces for sanitation and durability.

• Climate-controlled environment with heating and air conditioning for year-round comfort.

Through MT25:40, The Park Church joins a growing network of mobile outreach initiatives, offering all services at no cost to guests. The mobile unit is a tangible expression of The Park’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the vulnerable and restoring dignity to those experiencing hardship.
