UiPath (PATH) has completed a major upgrade to its internal business systems, teaming up with consulting giant Deloitte to move to a more modern ERP platform known as SAP S/4HANA. What makes this shift stand out is the central role played by automation—software robots and smart tools that handle tasks without constant human input.
This initiative, dubbed “Customer Zero,” wasn’t just about replacing old systems. UiPath used its own automation technology to streamline how data was moved, how systems were connected, and how financial tasks like billing and reporting are done. Over 85% of its finance processes are now fully automated, helping the company speed up work and reduce errors.
UiPath’s upgraded system also meets a key goal known of 93% clean core, exceeding the 80% industry benchmark, minimizing technical debt and enabling agile upgrades.. Traditional upgrades like this can take a lot of time and manpower, but by using over 200 automation tools, UiPath cut that time down by 10% and reduced stress on employees by automating testing and routine tasks.
Looking ahead, UiPath plans to use agentic automation that can make routine decisions on its own and work alongside people when needed. This next step will turn automation from a helper into more of a co-pilot in running complex business operations.
